Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.
Here is a photo from our Discovering Priesthood Day at Blackfen on Saturday. Fr Stpehen Langridge has a post about it over at the Southwark Vocations blog.
Your mention elsewhere of "Bedfords Polish Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St Cuthbert" gives me warrant ( I think) to mention the observations of a friend who just returned from a major pro-life conference in Poland. He pointed out that here in the States we can usually find a couple of morning Masses at our local parishes and an evening Mass somewhere in the vicinity. There, he said, you can find a Mass at practically any time of day, and when you go there, there will be two or three priests concelebrating. Obviously, they have "discovered priesthood," but how?
My own theory proffered for no extra charge is that the solution to our vocations crisis is simple, but radical. Fostering the creation of "prayerful, peaceful, joyful" Catholic homes will *easily* solve the several vocations crises that we have-priestly, religious, marital. In fact, I don't think there is any other possible permanent solution. But how to do that- that is the real question.
